Status
Affiliates, Distributor Partners and Franchise Partners participate as independent contractors. No employment, partnership, joint venture or agency relationship is created by program participation.
What this means
- You control your own methods, schedule, tools and promotional activity, within the limits of the Marketing Compliance Policy.
- You receive no wages, salary, overtime, benefits, health coverage, paid leave, workers' compensation or unemployment insurance from Connect Med.
- You are responsible for your own federal, state and local taxes, including self-employment tax, and for any business licenses or registrations you need.
- You may not bind Connect Med, sign on its behalf, speak for it, or represent yourself as its employee or agent.
- You are not a healthcare provider of Connect Med and may not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment recommendations.
- You may not collect, store or transmit protected health information (PHI).
Tax reporting
Compensation is reported as non-employee compensation where required by law. U.S. partners must provide a valid Form W-9 before payout; non-U.S. partners must provide the applicable Form W-8. See the Payout & Tax Terms.
